Course Overview

Program Description:

Horticulture 1, is designed to introduce the student to the fundamental principles and practices of the Horticulture industry through the study of plant and soil science. Through a variety of lectures and applied labs, student will be exposed to the factors that are essential for optimum plant growth. Learning Modules will include, Plant Propagation, Identifying Greenhouse insect pest, Integrated pest management (IPM), Hydroponic and Aquaponics growing systems and learn to analyze growth and development of plants. The course will review many of the agribusinesses associated with plant and soil science.
